O.C.G.A.20-2-751.4-Bullying Prohibited in Georgia Public Schools

Threatening or attempting to physically injure another student.
Intentionally using force to make someone fear immediate bodily harm.
Repeated verbal harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior.
Physical attacks or conduct causing substantial bodily harm.
Cyber-bullying through texts, social media, photographs, videos,nor other electronic communications.

What must Georgia Schools do?

Establish an anti-bullying policy.
Investigate reported bullying.
Require school employees with reliable information to report suspected bullying to the principal.
Prohibit retaliation against people reporting bullying.
Provide appropriate disciplinary action and counseling.
Notify parents or guardians when bullying is substantiated or a student is identified as a suspected victim.
Assign a student in grades 6-12 to an alternative school after a third substantiated bullying offense in the same school year, under the applicable policy.
